Less: Dutch Courage / Tittingur / T. Prištiak

Less is more. Less je more. Less dance.

Experimental music often lacks on groove nad funk. That can’t be said abou the Dutch Courage Duo (Andreas Klotz a Gábor Kovácz). It’s also questionable whether they make experimental music at all. By their own words, it’s something as a soundtrack to an obscure serbian restaurant. Smoke-filled interiors, heavy menu books, dust. Dirty but authentic. Andreas Klot works on a cutting-edge bass mirage of his own, going by the name of Superskin. Uj Bala is a double agent – by day a worker of a local Budapest sex shop, by night managing his vintage synth collections in a sound shaman manner. Baba Vanga unite!

TITTINGUR is a heavyset noise duo based between Bratislava and Copenhagen, based between techno and electronic music. Project is set on the ruins of a former noise-rock band. Their debut LAVINA brings a lynch-like atmosphere, with a dusty nad raw sound, they don’t head far from producers such as The Body or Container.

Tomáš Prištiak (aka 1/2 Tante Elze) will introduce his EP, Mechanical Heart Valve, produced as a grace for a certain cardiolog. All sounds on the EP are setup exclusively from samples of the artifitial heart valve of Tomas’ cousin, Daniel Gulas. Tomas has already introduced this project as a part of the Sensorium festival.

The Less series of concerts is focused on connecting several levels of current experimental music. Directed to create a unique ensemble with diversity of artforms and genres, project strives to encourage the position and awareness towards current trends in experimental, progressive, electronic and non-genre-specific in the minds of culture subscribers. It became reality through the efforts of a slovakian producers, Juraj Hoppan. Juraj was a dramaturge and producer in a cradle of the bratislava culture scene; A4 – Piestor pre nezávislú kultúru and led a critical magazine called Exitmusic, which later transformed into a label for new and different music – Exitlab.

The Live Art Program at Petrohradská kolektiv is a platform for performative art, with emphasis on experimental and independent music. The 2019 program is curated in cooperation with Michal Kindernay, Lucia Udvardyová and Juraj Hoppan, with whom we prepared three concert series – Audiogramy, Easterndaze meets Petrohradská and P/O/P.

The Live Art Program 2019 is financially supported by the City of Prague.
